Getting Financially Organized Before Summer

Now that Memorial Day weekend has passed, summer in Charlotte is officially here, and for many people, that means vacations, rising expenses, family plans, and a packed calendar.

It’s also one of the best times of year to pause, reset, and make sure your financial goals are still on track before the second half of the year flies by.

Hayes Meeks Financial works with Charlotte individuals, families, and business owners to create personalized financial plans designed around real life, not generic one-size-fits-all advice.

Services include:

✔ Tax planning & preparation
✔ Retirement strategy
✔ Business financial planning
✔ Wealth building & protection

Their approach focuses on practical guidance, clear communication, and helping clients make confident financial decisions without all the confusing jargon.

Whether you’re preparing for retirement, growing a business, planning for a home purchase, or simply trying to get more organized financially, having a real strategy matters.

As Charlotte continues to grow and change, having the right financial plan in place can make a major difference for your future and your family.

Lake season is back in Charlotte, with families flocking to Lake Norman, Lake Wylie, and Mountain Island Lake for recreation.

But before heading into the water, local officials urge everyone to check for swim advisories — as several coves have recently faced closures from sewage overflows, bacteria spikes, and toxic algal blooms.

Conditions can change fast, especially after heavy rain or heat waves.

Harmful algal blooms are a major concern, often appearing as bright green or foul-smelling water.

Pets are especially at risk since algae toxins can make them dangerously ill in hours.

For safety, text “MECKNOSWIM” to 888-777 for instant alerts.

If you see suspicious water, dead fish, or slime, report it to 311 immediately.

The key: When in doubt, stay out — and help keep Charlotte’s lakes safe for all.
