More than 200 volunteers gathered in Uptown Charlotte with one goal: turning a few hours of service into thousands of hygiene essentials for local neighbors in need.
Led by Duke Energy and partnering groups, volunteers assembled 10,000 hygiene kits packed with everyday necessities for people facing housing instability across the Charlotte area.
These kits, filled with items like soap and toothpaste, are crucial for those without reliable shelter, where even basic personal care products often remain out of reach.
Half of the kits are heading to Crisis Assistance Ministry, while the other half supports Roof Above, ensuring supplies reach some of the city’s most vital organizations serving people in crisis.
The outreach spreads further as 800 inclement-weather kits are also being delivered to local seniors through Meals on Wheels, extending support to another vulnerable community.
This collaborative effort demonstrates the power of volunteers and organizations uniting to meet fundamental needs—impacting thousands across Charlotte. Read More... |
