Federal authorities have confirmed an active investigation related to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

The historic Excelsior Club is moving toward a new life on Beatties Ford Road.
After the deteriorated original building was demolished in July, an $8.3 million redevelopment is planned with dining, live entertainment, meeting space and a museum component.
The project aims to preserve the legacy of one of Charlotte’s most important Black cultural gathering places while creating a sustainable new destination for the West End.
