Little Mama's Italian to Open New Cornelius Location in Early 2026

Beloved Charlotte eatery brings its Italian-American classics to Lake Norman

Little Mama's Italian, a cherished name in Charlotte's dining scene, is set to expand its reach to Cornelius, bringing its renowned Italian-American dishes to the Lake Norman community.

Scheduled to open in early 2026, the new restaurant will occupy the former G.O.A.T. Pizza space at 9623 Bailey Rd, Suite 100. The 4,300-square-foot venue will feature seating for 140 guests, a dedicated bar, a private dining room, and an enclosed sunroom designed for year-round enjoyment.

Patrons can look forward to signature offerings such as hand-pulled fresh mozzarella, scratch-made pastas, hearty penne alla vodka, lasagna stacked high with rich flavor, and the brick oven pizzas that have garnered a loyal following.

The design aims to balance family-friendly comfort with a date-night ambiance, providing flexible spaces suitable for celebrations and group gatherings.

This expansion is spearheaded by FS Food Group and founder Frank Scibelli, who has successfully introduced concepts like Midwood Smokehouse and Paco's Tacos to the Charlotte area. Inspired by New England Italian-American traditions, Scibelli's vision has resonated with diners, and the Lake Norman community eagerly anticipates the arrival of Little Mama's.

Operating hours for the Cornelius location will be:

Sunday–Thursday: 11 a.m.–9 p.m.

Friday–Saturday: 11 a.m.–10 p.m.

Renovations are already underway, with the grand opening slated for early 2026. For Lake Norman residents, the arrival of Little Mama's signifies the addition of a new neighborhood favorite in the making.
