HGTV is bringing a major spotlight to the Charlotte region with its newly revealed HGTV Dream Home 2026, a lakefront retreat located on Lake Wylie, just south of Charlotte near the North CarolinaâSouth Carolina border.
Each year, HGTVâs Dream Home sweepstakes features a one-of-a-kind property designed to showcase lifestyle, design, and destination. This yearâs home highlights the appeal of the Lake Wylie area and its mix of waterfront living with quick access to the Queen City.
What makes this home special
The 2026 Dream Home is a custom-built waterfront property valued at more than $2.4 million, featuring over 3,000 square feet of living space, including three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.
The home was built by Knotts Builders, a North Carolina-based builder known for high-end custom homes. HGTV designer Brian Patrick Flynn led the interior design, leaning into warm, natural materials and a layout built around lake views and indoor-outdoor living.
Outside, the property includes expansive deck space and a two-story dock that extends directly onto Lake Wylie, designed for boating days, quiet mornings, and sunset hangs with friends.
