Exciting news for Charlotte families: your 4th grader can explore America's natural wonders—for free!
Through the Every Kid Outdoors program, all 4th grade students, including homeschoolers, receive a one-year pass granting free entry to national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and more.
This pass also covers all children under 16 and up to three accompanying adults, making it perfect for family outings, educational trips, or weekend adventures.
How to Obtain the Pass
1. Visit the official Every Kid Outdoors website with your 4th grader.
2. Have them complete a brief activity to earn a paper voucher (digital copies are not accepted).
3. Present the voucher at a participating federal recreation site to receive a plastic pass.
4. The pass is valid from September 1 to August 31 of their 4th grade year.
What's Included
The pass waives entrance fees at over 2,000 federal sites, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
It also grants access to forests, lakes, and historic sites across the U.S.
Note: Additional fees for camping, parking, tours, and state parks are not covered.
