Tigers Lead Preseason Poll; Miami and SMU Follow

Clemson has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football title, according to a poll of over 180 media members at the recent ACC Football Kickoff event in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Tigers are coming off a strong 2024 season, finishing with a 10–4 overall record and a 7–1 mark in conference play, culminating in an ACC Championship victory. They also made their seventh appearance in the College Football Playoff, ending the season ranked No. 11 in the final AFCA Coaches Poll and No. 14 in the AP Poll.

In the media voting, Clemson received 167 first-place votes, solidifying their position as the team to beat. Miami garnered seven first-place votes, while Florida State received four. Both SMU and Georgia Tech earned two first-place votes each, and Virginia Tech secured one.

The predicted order of finish in the ACC is as follows:

Notably, North Carolina is set to begin its first season under legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, who made his debut at the ACC Kickoff event. At 73, Belichick is embarking on his first college coaching role after a storied NFL career that includes six Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots. He emphasized the enthusiasm and support from fans and highlighted his efforts to transform the Tar Heels' roster, bringing in 71 new players this offseason. His transition from the NFL to college football has been a major talking point leading up to the season.

The 2025 ACC Football Championship Game is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast nationally. Tickets and premium seating options are currently available for purchase.

As the season approaches, all eyes will be on Clemson to see if they can live up to the high expectations set by the media and continue their dominance in the ACC.
