City of Charlotte and Smart Charlotte Launch EmpowerTech Workshops for Community Leaders

Six-Session Series Aims to Enhance Digital Skills and Confidence Among Local Leaders

The City of Charlotte, in collaboration with Smart Charlotte, is introducing EmpowerTech: For Community Leaders, a complimentary six-session workshop series designed to bolster digital proficiency and self-assurance among neighborhood and community leaders.

Each session will commence with a concise presentation on pivotal technology topics, followed by interactive lab time. Participants will have the opportunity to practice new skills on computers, receive guided support, and complete practical digital tasks.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in any session that aligns with their interests. Those who attend four or more sessions will be honored with the EmpowerTech Excellence Award, acknowledging their dedication to personal development, innovation, and effective community leadership.

The workshop schedule is as follows:

Digital Basics - January 27, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Hickory Grove Library

Introduction to AI - February 24, 6-7:30 p.m. (Location to be determined)

Productivity Tools - March 24, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Sugar Creek Library

Registration is now open through the city's online form. This initiative underscores Charlotte's commitment to fostering digital literacy and empowering community leaders to navigate the evolving technological landscape effectively.

In addition to the EmpowerTech series, Charlotte is hosting several other events aimed at promoting innovation and community engagement:
