Adjustments to Waste Collection Services During Christmas and New Year's Holidays |
Charlotte's Solid Waste Services has announced adjustments to the trash collection schedule in observance of the upcoming holidays.
On Thursday, December 25, there will be no collection of garbage, recycling, yard waste, or bulky waste due to Christmas Day.
As a result, Thursday customers will have their collection on Friday, December 26, and Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday, December 27.
It is a green recycling collection week.
For the New Year's holiday, services will operate on their regular schedule, including on Thursday, January 1.
This week will be an orange recycling collection week.
Starting Monday, January 5, the city will begin collecting natural Christmas trees.
Residents should place trees at the curb for yard waste collection, ensuring they are free of lights, decorations, and tinsel.
Artificial trees and all wreaths should be scheduled for bulky item collection.
To schedule, call 311, visit the city's website, or use the CLT+ app.
Residents can find their collection day by using the city's property tool, My Charlotte Lookup.
By entering your address, you can confirm your service day and determine if you are on an orange or green recycling week.
To stay informed about collection updates, service disruptions, and waste preparation tips, residents can subscribe to text alerts.
Text your day of service to 73224.
