From drive-through displays to walkable gardens and free holiday traditions, here’s where to see Christmas lights around Charlotte this season. |

Charlotte’s holiday light season starts before Thanksgiving and stretches into early January, with options ranging from giant drive-through displays to walkable gardens and free neighborhood traditions.
Here are five of the biggest 2026 Christmas light experiences around Charlotte, plus what makes each one worth considering.
1. Speedway Christmas — Best drive-through experience
Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Speedway Christmas runs from November 20, 2026 through January 3, 2027, from 6 to 10 p.m. nightly, with the show closed on Christmas Eve.
The four-mile drive-through route features more than 5 million lights, synchronized displays set to music on 101.3 FM and drive-in movies on Speedway TV.
Friday and Saturday nights in December are typically the busiest, so the Speedway recommends Sunday or Thursday nights for shorter waits.
