🎃 Spooky Fun, Big Openings & Can’t-Miss Events in Charlotte

From Halloween thrills to Wegmans’ big debut, here’s your guide to everything happening in the Queen City this week.

Charlotte comes alive every October, bursting with pumpkins, creative costumes, and that signature community energy.

Families can stroll through lively pumpkin patches at Hodges Family Farm, catch themed fun at Carowinds or Great Wolf Lodge, and enjoy hands-on activities at Discovery Place Kids.

For thrill-seekers, the Queen City Ghosts tour, SCarowinds, and The 13th Acre haunted trail offer chills and jump scares, while nearby classics like BoogerWoods are just a short drive away.

Longtime traditions shine, such as the glowing Elizabeth Pumpkin Wall and family activities at the Carolina Renaissance Festival.

Adults join the fun too, thanks to Uptown and South End bar crawls, plus spirited parties like the Boneyard Bash.

Charlotte’s Halloween season truly has something for everyone, making 2025 a can’t-miss celebration.

Wegmans Food Markets has broken ground on its first Charlotte store, an exciting step for both the popular grocer and the Ballantyne community.

The 110,000-square-foot location at 11550 North Community House Road, less than half a mile from The Bowl at Ballantyne, is slated to open in fall 2026.

Led by Dan Aken of Wegmans, the project promises diverse departments — from fresh produce to a vibrant market café with indoor and outdoor seating.

Wegmans kicked off its local partnership by donating $5,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, underscoring a commitment to fighting food insecurity.

The store’s debut will bring approximately 450 permanent jobs and 250 construction roles, boosting the area’s economy.

As part of Ballantyne Reimagined, the store will be a key feature in the neighborhood’s evolution into a lively, walkable hub.

The new Wegmans is set to be a valued destination for Charlotte residents.
