Ricci’s Hoagies Brings Philadelphia Flavor to Charlotte’s NoDa Neighborhood

Iconic Sandwich Shop to Open First Out-of-State Location in Vibrant Arts District

Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood is set to welcome a taste of Philadelphia as Ricci’s Hoagies, a beloved sandwich institution since 1920, plans to open its first out-of-state location in late 2025.

The new 1,000-square-foot shop will be situated at 715 East 36th Street within the Centro NoDa development, a mixed-use space that has become a hub for local businesses and eateries.

Owner Michael Pagliarella expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, "Charlotte has an incredible food scene with a love for authenticity and craft—it felt like the perfect city to bring Ricci’s next chapter."

Ricci’s Hoagies is renowned for its authentic Italian hoagies, crafted with hand-sliced meats, locally baked rolls, and fresh vegetables. Pagliarella emphasized, "The best hoagie starts with fresh, high-quality ingredients, Italian flavors, and most importantly, a lot of heart."

Franchisee Todd Garofalo, embarking on his first venture into the restaurant industry, shared his excitement: "Our goal is to bring the Charlotte experience to life with the same pride, tradition, and sense of community that everyone cherishes at the Philly locations. I look forward to introducing the Queen City to that spirit."

Centro NoDa has recently attracted a variety of new businesses, including the Charlotte-centric clothing brand Queen & Cotton, which opened its first brick-and-mortar store earlier this year. The development also features other local favorites such as Bayt Almocha, a Yemeni coffee shop, and Morelia Gourmet Paletas, an ice cream shop.

The addition of Ricci’s Hoagies to NoDa's diverse culinary landscape underscores the neighborhood's growing appeal as a destination for both residents and visitors seeking unique dining experiences.
