Firefighters from across North Carolina gather for advanced rescue training |
Charlotte Fire Department recently concluded its annual Structural Collapse Technician School, a rigorous 10-day program held at the Charlotte Fire Training Academy.
From December 1 to December 10, over 70 firefighters from various North Carolina departments participated in this intensive training.
The curriculum covered critical areas such as concrete breaching and breaking, heavy lifting and moving, and structural stabilization techniques.
These skills are essential for responding to complex rescue scenarios involving collapsed structures.
Captain Brad Fulk, a key organizer, emphasized the program's significance: "This training ensures that when the worst happens, there are highly skilled, highly capable firefighters ready to respond."
Notably, this year's session marked the final class taught by Captain Jeff Bright, a founding member of the program, highlighting the department's commitment to maintaining high training standards.
Chief Reginald Johnson praised the initiative, stating, "Our firefighters do not wait for emergencies to prepare. They build their skills every day, and programs like this show the level of dedication they bring to the job."
The Charlotte Fire Department continues to lead in technical rescue training, reinforcing its dedication to community safety and professional excellence. |
